Apprenticeships

These IBEW apprentices are gaining classroom knowledge so they can perform at a high level out in the field.

The Massachusetts Building Trades Council (MBTC), through its local unions and contractor partners, puts a strong emphasis on having the best trained and most highly qualified craftspeople in the construction industry. Consider for a moment that member unions of the MBTC annually spend over $28 Million on training activities. Our training programs take in more students each year than some of the schools in our state university system such as UMass Dartmouth. In fact, our annual apprentice and journeyman training population is larger than the student population in any of the state or community colleges.

This strong emphasis on training helps raise standards throughout the construction industry, increases job site safety and ensures that our work product continues to be the best in the world. Employers benefit because they are able to recruit high-quality craftspeople and their customers benefit because highly-trained workers get the job done right the first time.

From apprenticeship programs to ongoing training and certification classes, our centers produce the most highly skilled workers in the state.

We hope that you will utilize workers trained at our facilities. They are your best guarantee that the job will be done right the first time.
