In 2010, a year which saw countless workers lose their jobs as a result of the State's economic crisis, the Fair Labor Division handled over 5,000 cases, protecting thousands of workers from nonpayment or underpayment of their hard earned wages. Case in point, in September 2010, the AG's Office reached a settlement agreement with LVR of Wakefield and its President Lawrence Roy to resolve allegations of prevailing wage violations. Under the agreement, LVR will pay $87,000 in restitution to 24 employees.
